  1. Works great, but not the part pictured. Instructions not clear. 4 Star Review

The product shipped includes the metal box with new wiring and a thermostat. Fortunately the 6 prong plug is the same as my 25 year old unit, so swapping it out was simple. The mounting holes were different, but I was able to easily work around that. What the instructions don’t make clear is that you need to use the thermostat that comes with the new control module. The module works with a digital signal from the thermostat, which older thermostats do not provide. The new thermostat is quite an attractive modern looking unit with a blue backlit LCD screen. But it is very small, so you will probably have screw holes from an older thermostat showing- which is why I tried to use my old thermostat without any success. Once I hooked up the new thermostat it worked great. Also, note that with the new module, the furnace gets turned on and off indirectly by the thermostat. There are two blue/white (12+/-) wires from the module that need to be connected to the furnace wires that were previously connected directly to the old thermostat. The module gives power to these wires via the digital signal from the new thermostat. That means snaking wire(s) along the path of the module/thermostat. The new thermostat only uses the red/black/green wires (the green is the digital output), so the yellow wire can be used for the furnace, but you will still need one more. My furnace is not operational, so I skipped this.

(RVeParts - this is some good information - thankyou. I have also changed the picture on the website)

  2. not totally easy but is a fix with some rewiring 5 Star Review

Greg is the best tech for the answer to installing this board. You must have 5 wires not 4. He has it dialed exactly. Lots of experience doing this. The board and thermostat from Dometic is the answer, the installation is not straight forward, but Greg is the perfect answer to any questions. He`s a hero.
